About the Team

Team Canada 2007 is a highly skilled amalgam of four advanced life support paramedic clinicians from Vancouver B.C. Our group have more than 100 years of combined experience and specialize in areas such as; disaster preparedness, heavy urban search and rescue, and (CBRN) Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Emergency Response to name a few. Our advanced skills are similar to that of the Australian ICP, Intensive Care Paramedic.

Two members of this team were sent by our provincial government to assist the flood victims of Katrina. These award winning individuals have taught across Canada and deserve to go forth representing Canada.

In 2005 this team won Gold at the Rallye Rejviz International Medical Competition in the Czech Republic. Competing with teams from fourteen countries most of which comprised of physician, nurse and advanced care paramedics.  Although this event is much different from the European model as in Europe they respect all countries protocols, drugs and procedures rather they judge diagnostics, best practice in real life outdoor and indoor settings. This event is different not worse or better rather more exact as the JEMS competition in Baltimore Maryland using a set standard of drugs and protocols as set out by the Australian College of Ambulance Professionals.

We are looking forward to this challenge and are eager to meet our colleagues from Australia and the Asia Pacific regions to share ideas and best practice experiences.  It is a tremendous honour for us to compete with these countries.
