Thursday, January 12, 2012 |

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

The two renowned companies of the healthcare industry - Walgreens and Express Scripts have failed to resolve a six month heated dispute over prescription reimbursement charges and Walgreen has finally left the network of Express Scripts. Not to mention, but the rift has affected millions of customers who were covered by the program fill at the Walgreen stores. It must be mentioned that Walgreen is leaving no stone unturned to continue with the network whereas Express Scripts is busy assisting the customers find other stores. It might be surprising to you but for the sake of Tricare (health drug program for America’s military group) Walgreen even offered a guarantee that its prices would beat or match the average cost of every adjusted prescription of other pharmacies in the Tricare network. It also offered to contract separately for Tricare. However, all offers were turned down. According to Walgreen, Express Scripts has itself solely focused on drug spending and minting profit whereas their chain of stores is striving hard to lower the overall cost of healthcare. In order to fight back, Walgreen has initiated several steps and is offering special discount Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens. Walgreen is even trying to update their customers with the happenings through the social networking websites. You can find Walgreens on Facebook and Walgreens on Twitter.
