Last night my husband and I awoke to the sound of sirens coming from outside our new home. At first we just sat there, looking at one another, trying to decide what could be the source of the noise. After a minute or two, we both got out of bed and went to our bedroom window to see what all the commotion was about. Peeking out through our blinds we could see lights on in the neighbors' house across the street. As our eyes adjusted to the light we realized that it looked as though their front door was standing open. We were discussing this curious sight when the first wave of police cars and emergency vehicles rushed onto the scene, adding their wailing sirens to the already formidable racket of the blaring home security system. We watched with growing apprehension as several police officers circled the house, while others entered through the front door. We watched the spectacle until sleepiness and cold feet sent us crawling back under our covers.
This morning I went next door to ask my friend, Sara, if she knew anything about what had caused last night's spectacle. She told me that she had heard from another neighbor that their adt alarm had gone off when someone tried to jimmy the lock on their patio door. Thank goodness for their adt alarm system. The family had jumped out of their beds and run out of the house and over to their next door neighbor's. Everyone was fine and it seemed as though the alarm scared off whoever tried to break in. The whole thing makes me thankful that we have an alarm systems too. check out for home security alarm products @ www.home-alarm-systems.com
